Participants will be introduced to the concept of trauma-responsive care and how it can support babies and toddlers who have experienced trauma or those who are at risk of experiencing trauma. Protective factors for babies and toddlers that strengthen their resilience, and how to foster infant/toddler, family, and environmental protective factors will be explored, including a variety of trauma-responsive caregiving strategies—from building secure and responsive relationships and attachment, to creating trauma-responsive routines and trauma-responsive environments for babies and toddlers. Participants also will begin to identify additional trauma-responsive supports and resources for babies, toddlers, and their families that continue to build their resilience. Caregivers will explore how they protect the most important protective factors, themselves. Participants will explore the strategies for building self-reflection and general workforce wellness.
